because where the wild things are wasn't playing anymore, my friends and i decided to see new moon. granted i kinda wanted to see it. just to check out the special effects and see how jacob really was going to turn into a werewolf. i must admit it was a horrible transition: awkward and pretty obvious. but the movie is completely overshadowed by taylor lautner's AMAZING body. it's completely. . . let's just say AMAZING. you can't help but stare and drool. but come on, who really goes to see any movie in the twilight saga for the great plot lines and character development. you pay your $8 (thank god for that student rate!) to see the hot guys. and laugh at kristen stewart's intense awkwardness. seriously seeing her sit in a chair and stare out of her window for 3 months made me laught. which made groups of teenage girls stare at me. sorry about that.but i had to admit to myself, i might have changed teams. even though robert pattinson was barely in the movie, his presence wasn't necessary. i was completely fine staring at taylor lautner's (dare i say it again?) AMAZING body and being insanely happy that we're the same age ☺ the writers did some serious magic by truly developing his character. he wasn't the same awkward kid that we saw in twilight. he actually had DEPTH. something we don't get from bella or edward. after a while, i lost my mesmerisation with the never-ending love story of bella & edward. it's a lot easier to read than to see. i have an easier time accepting how quickly they fall in love with each other in words than with images.
one of my main issues with the movie is the lack of amazing music. with twilight, there was great usage of the soundtrack througout the movie. from "supermassive black hole" by muse used in the baseball scene to the cleverly placed "bella's song." maybe i'm having serious amnesia, but i don't remember any of the soundtrack's song actually being used in new moon. except for "meet me on the equinox" by death cab for cutie. but the credits don't count. who actually watches credits anymore except for a small bloopers reel? the songs should have been given more attention. instead of hearing amazing tracks by lykke li, editors, and thom york, i found myself distracted by bella's obvious acknowledgment of edward's ghostly figure. there was plenty of those awkward moments in the movie. enough to actually make me cringe in my seat.

let's just hope that eclipse will pay more attention to who bella and edward are as actual characters. instead of relying on the "chemistry" between kristen steward and robert pattinson. and did anyone else feel uncomfortable as you watched those steamy kisses. it looked like they were both in pain.
